No egress fees
Your data leaves when you say so, and it costs nothing to leave.
Egress is the fee that makes a database expensive in ways the price list does not show: every export, every backup you pull, every byte your app servers read from another network. Lathe includes 20 TB of traffic a month with every instance, at the machine's full port speed, and there is no per-gigabyte line on any bill.
The traffic is part of the machine.
- 20 TB a month, every plan
- The same allowance on the smallest plan as on the largest. Inbound traffic is not counted at all.
- Full speed
- The allowance is not a throttle. The machine moves data at its port's speed until the allowance is used, not at a slower rate to save us money.
- Your own dumps and exports
- Run pg_dump, redis-cli, replication or a nightly export to storage you control whenever you like. It is your data and moving it is included.
- App servers anywhere
- Serve an app from another network, another cloud or another country and pay nothing per byte for the database traffic.
- Leaving
- If you move off Lathe, take your data the same way, at full speed, for nothing. A service you cannot afford to leave is not one you should stay with.
- Beyond the allowance
- Past 20 TB in a month we get in touch and talk. We do not bill for it.

Questions
Is the allowance per instance or per account?
Per instance, per month. Every instance carries its own 20 TB.
Does inbound traffic count?
No. Only outbound traffic counts toward the allowance; inbound is free and unmetered.
What if I go past it?
We contact you and talk about what you are running. There is no overage price and nothing is added to the bill.
Can I take my data out without paying anything?
Yes. Dump it, replicate it or copy the backups. Outbound traffic within the allowance is included, and a move almost never comes close to it.
